One redeeming feature is that hunters in East Kingdoms can take the zeppelin from Undercity to Grom'gol, which lands right near the trainer (it's actually easier and shorter to do that than to go from Undercity to Orgrimmar, since the zeppelin tower is outside the city in Durotar). East Kingdoms is served only by the two "wild" trainers in Stranglethorn Vale and Swamp of Sorrows. Neither of the Kalimdor wild trainers is near a flight point, so you'll likely end up flying back to Darnassus when you need training.įor the Horde, there is no hunter trainer in Undercity. It's still heavily concentrated in the northern part of the continent, however. Most zones have no hunter trainers, but there are some important omissions to note.įor the Alliance, there are "wild" hunter trainers (outside the city) in Kalimdor, but none in the East Kingdoms. Sometimes they're not what they appear for example, the Stormwind hunter trainers all appear as dwarves but are actually on Stormwind faction). Prices go down with Honored or Better reputation pay attention to the faction of the trainer you're using for best prices. (Base price for Neutral or Friendly reputation. These cost money, based on the level of the new ability or new rank.īelow is a table showing the base price for any Hunter ability (new or higher rank) that unlocks at a certain character level. You will also get upgrades (higher ranks) of existing abilities. In Classic, trainers present new abilities every other level on the even-numbered levels starting with level 4, so you should plan to visit your class trainer when you gain an even-numbered level. This happens automatically and you don't have to pay for these abilities. You may not be able to buy them all if you are short on gold, so choose carefully.ĭifference between Retail and Classic: In Retail, you get new class abilities every so often when you go up a level. You don't have to buy all spells or abilities. For example, Aimed Shot is learned by the Marksmanship tree talent available after 10 points, and you can purchase ranks 2-6 at levels 28, 36, 44, 52, and 60 through the trainer. Getting new ranks of the talented ability requires buying the new ranks from the trainer as you level. When you learn an ability through a talent, you get automatically get Rank 1 of that ability. These are noted on the Alliance and Horde Trainer Locations above. However, the hunter trainers found in the 1-5 starter zones only train through level 6 abilities. Most hunter trainers will train all levels. After that, new trainer-learned abilities start at level 4, and can be learned every even-numbered level thereafter. You can learn one new ability at level 1. Hunter trainers teach hunters new abilities for their class, as well as upgrading existing abilities.
